Cody Christopher Calafiore is the winner of Big Brother 22 (US) and the runner-up of Big Brother 16 (US). He later competed on Big Brother: Reindeer Games.

Originally a member of the Bomb Squad in BB16, Cody found himself more loyal to contestant Derrick Levasseur. Together, they formed a Final Two deal called The Hitmen. Cody was initially seen as one of the weaker HouseGuests by viewers. However, as the game progressed, Cody began to play more aggressively winning 3 HoHs and 3 PoVs, and thus making him the fifth male in Big Brother history to win 6 competitions overall in a single season. After he won the final HOH, he chose to infamously evict Victoria Rafaeli and take his fellow Hitmen partner Derrick with him to the Final Two, only to lose in a final Jury vote of 7-2.

His decision to evict Victoria has been considered one of the worst moves ever by the viewers because they believe he could have easily won against Victoria. Most of the jurors have even admitted that Cody would have beaten Victoria.

Cody began BB22 by winning the first HoH. Following his win, both he and Memphis formed a final 2 alliance called The Commission, and the two brought in other houseguests into their alliance called The Committee. The Committee controlled the season, which kept Cody safe. Cody had several alliances and deals, such as separate final 2 deals with Memphis, Enzo and fellow BB16 castmate Nicole, as well as a final 3 alliance with Enzo and Memphis called The Wise guys. Cody had a hand in evicting several players, including his own allies. He was a competition threat again, winning 4 HoH's and 4 PoV's. Cody managed not to be nominated throughout the season. After winning the Final HoH, he became the first ever houseguest to make it to the final 2 without ever going on the block. Cody's dominant strategic and social games, and competition wins earned him the win in a unanimous 9-0 vote. He was in alliances with almost everyone in the house, and developed very strong friendships with Enzo, Nicole F, Memphis and Dani, but had a minor dislike towards David, short lived running feuds with Janelle and Kevin and a long running-feud with Kaysar. By having no eviction votes cast against him and receiving all the jury votes, he became the second American houseguest to play a Perfect Game, after Dan from Season 10, and the fourth houseguest overall in North American Big Brother History.

In both of his appearances he has placed 2nd and 1st, which is currently tied for the best result in two appearances in the game. He is the the third player to make it to the Final Two twice.

Age: 23
Hometown: Hackensack, N.J.
Current City: Howell, N.J.
Occupation: Sales Account Executive
Three adjectives that describe you: Outgoing, happy-go-lucky and empathetic.
Favorite Activities: I love going on runs, working out and going to the gym.
What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house: From watching previous seasons, not having communications from the outside world seems like the most difficult part, it causes all sorts of paranoia about twists in the game. Also, I always have the TV on to fall asleep; it will be difficult to not have one.
Do you have a strategy for winning Big Brother?: No! Thinking about all the different ways to get to the end is enough to make my head explode! It will be a game time decision for me once I get into the house.
Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most: Jeff - he was an extremely smart player and was just a genuinely good person.
What are you afraid of: Losing family, snakes and being in the pitch black is pretty freaky.
What is the accomplishment you are most proud of: Being picked up by a professional soccer team.
Finish this sentence: My life’s motto is… Don't be afraid of falling; be afraid of not having the will to get back up.
What would you do if “Big Brother” made you famous: Continue to watch every season of Big Brother and try and get back onto another season!

Cody is a Seventeen Magazine “2014 Hot Guy Panelist,” where he gives young female readers advice on dating and fashion. He was drafted to a pro soccer team in college, but was cut from the team after getting injured. Chick flicks are his guilty pleasure.[1]

Age: 29
Hometown: Howell, New Jersey

Occupation: Soccer coach
Previous season: Big Brother 16 (runner-up)
Three adjectives that describe you: Loyal, confident, and caring.
Favorite activities: My favorite activities include golfing, soccer, and video games.
Why do you want to play Big Brother again?
I want to play Big Brother again because of money, money, money, and monayyyyyyy.
What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house?
The most difficult aspect this time around will be playing the game with people that have already watched me and know exactly who I am.
Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most and why?
I like Jeff Schroeder, because he's a stand up guy that played the game straight up and wasn’t fake in the slightest way. I also like Boogie, because he was wacky, funny, extremely clever, and witty when it came to the game.
What is your strategy for winning the game?
My strategy is to be myself. I want to be friendly and honest so people feel comfortable opening up to me. I will find one person in the house that I will go through information and stories with, to cross check if people are lying. I don't want to be too close to my closest ally, because I do not want people using our names in the same sentence. I want to win as many competitions as I can to keep myself and my closest allies safe.
How does this strategy differ from the last time you played?
It doesn't differ in the slightest. Don't fix what isn't broken.
Have you changed/evolved since the last time you were on the show?
I have grown and matured a ton since the last time I played. I am able to listen and flag misinformation much better than the first time I played the game. Reading people isn’t my strength, but listening to people is, so I am able to use that to my advantage this go-around.
My life's motto is…
"Don't worry, be happy."
What would you take into the house and why?
-A photo of my family and girlfriend, as a reminder as to why I am playing this game.
Fun facts about yourself:
-I am nasty at video games! (Nasty is a good thing).
-I can solve a Rubik's Cube in under two minutes.
-I can juggle a soccer ball over 1000 times.
-I apparently have a serious problem chewing my food quietly.
-I play the drums.

-I'm a sucker for soda.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Cody was the fourth HouseGuest to have their Head of Household reign rebuffed, following Erika Landin in Big Brother 7, Michele Noonan in Big Brother 11, and Emmett Blois in Big Brother Canada 1.
  • Cody was the third person in Big Brother 16 to win HOH and POV in the same week, following Devin Shepherd and Frankie Grande.
  • Cody in BB16 is one of nine people to win the final HOH competition and not go on to win the game. The other eight are Nicole Nilson Schaffrich, Alison Irwin, Ivette Corredero, Ryan Quicksall, Gary Levy, Godfrey Mangwiza, Kelsey Faith, and Paul Abrahamian.
  • Cody is the third person to win three or more POVs and make it to the Final Two. The first HouseGuests to do this were Daniele Donato and Memphis Garrett. He was followed by Paul Abrahamian, Jason Roy, Ross Mathews, Tyler Crispen, and Kaycee Clark.
    • Cody is the second person to accomplish this twice, following Paul.
    • Coincidentally, except for Kaycee and himself (in BB22), they all wounded up being the runners-up of their seasons.
  • Cody was the only member of the Bomb Squad to ever vote against the majority.
  • Cody's decision to evict Victoria instead of Derrick is considered one of the worst moves in Big Brother history by viewers and several HouseGuests.
    • In many interviews, it was revealed had Cody voted to evict Derrick, he would receive jury votes from every houseguest except Derrick and Frankie.
    • Steve Moses used Cody's infamous move as a strategy to evict Vanessa Rousso on finale night to help seal his victory as the winner of Big Brother 17. Cody's move was mentioned in Steve's original eviction speech against Vanessa as seen on the live feeds.
  • Cody is tied with Andy Herren, Austin Matelson, Nicole Franzel, and James Huling for the most eviction votes cast in one season, with 12.
  • Cody's brother Paulie was a HouseGuest on Big Brother 18.
  • Cody is the seventh American HouseGuest in Big Brother history to win HOH in the first part of a Double/Triple Eviction and then again after it happened. The other HouseGuests to accomplish this were Zach Swerdzewski, Ian Terry, Nicole Franzel (even though she was dethroned the second time), Victor Arroyo, Shelby Stockton and Jackson Michie.
    • Cody is the first, and currently only, houseguest to do so after a Triple Eviction as opposed to a Double.
  • Cody is the fifth houseguest to win HOH and POV in the same week twice, following Danielle Murphree, Andy Herren, Frankie Grande and Paul Abrahamian.
  • Cody is the ninth HouseGuest to make it past Day 78 without ever being nominated. The other houseguests are Derrick Levasseur, Austin Matelson, James Huling, Nicole Franzel, JC Mounduix, Holly Allen, Tommy Bracco and Enzo Palumbo. They would be followed by Bowie Jane Ball and Matt Klotz.
  • Cody is the seventh houseguest to reach the final 3 while never being nominated in a single season, following Danielle Reyes, Jason Guy, Jillian MacLaughlin, Derrick Levasseur, Anthony Douglas and Enzo Palumbo. They would be followed by Tychon Carter-Newman, Todrick Hall and Bowie Jane Ball.
    • Cody is the first person to do so and also win the Final HOH, thus never being nominated at all for an entire season. He was followed by Tychon.
  • Cody never voted in the minority on Big Brother 22.
  • Following Paul, Cody is the second person to win the Final POV twice.
  • Cody has won 7 Power of Vetoes in his Big Brother career, and he has never used any of them.
  • Cody is the first person to win the Final HOH twice.
  • Following Dan Gheesling and Paul, Cody is the third houseguest to make it to the Final Two twice.
  • Cody is the fourth winner to win with a Perfect Game following Dan Gheesling, Kevin Martin and Dane Rupert.
  • Cody is the fifth HouseGuest (and second male) to win the first Head of Household competition and then win the game following Lisa Donahue, Hayden Moss, Rachel Reilly and Nicole Franzel.
  • Cody is the eighth winner, and fourth male, to win HOH and POV in the same week, following Jordan Lloyd, Hayden Moss, Rachel Reilly, Andy Herren, Nicole Franzel, Kaycee Clark and Jackson Michie.
  • Cody is the first houseguest to win OTEV and then go on to win the game in the same season, effectively breaking the "OTEV Curse".
  • Excluding his time on Big Brother: Reindeer Games, Cody shares many stats and feats with fellow winner Dan Gheesling:
    • They are the only two men to win Big Brother (US) with unanimous Jury votes and Perfect Games.
    • They both played two seasons and placed 1st and 2nd each. Because of this, they are tied for highest average placement of 1.5.
    • They both only faced eviction twice across their four seasons played.
    • They have both never received eviction votes across their four seasons played, and are the only Returning Players to hold this distinction.
    • They have both only voted in the minority once across their four seasons played.
    • They both were the HOH to evict Keesha Smith on their winning season.
    • They both had a Final Two deal with Memphis Garrett on their winning season.
    • They both won three HOHs on their first seasons, including the Final HOH. They both won Parts 1 and 3 respectively.
    • They both played with Ian Terry and Janelle Pierzina on their second seasons, and both successfully voted to evict Janelle.
    • They both won OTEV on their second seasons and are the only winners to also win OTEV.
    • They were both half of the most successful Final Two alliances in Big Brother history, The Renegades and The Hitmen.
    • They both went on to compete on The Traitors and were selected to be Traitors on their respective seasons. They also ended up being the first Traitors to be correctly guessed and banished on their seasons.
  • Janelle Pierzina, Dan Gheesling, Paul Abrahamian, Enzo Palumbo, Cody Calafiore and Nicole Franzel are the only people to make it to the Final Three twice. Excluding Janelle, all of them made it to finale night twice as well.
  • Da'Vonne Rogers, David Alexander, Enzo and Cody are the only houseguests to improve their placement on Big Brother 22.
  • The first two times Cody competed:
    • He won an equal number of HOH and POV competitions, with three HOH and three POV wins in Big Brother 16 and four HOH and four POV wins in Big Brother 22.
    • He played with Nicole Franzel, successfully eliminating and outlasting her.
      • Cody has played all three of his seasons with Nicole Franzel, but did not outlast her on his third season.
  • Cody is the only person to cast the sole vote to evict four times.
  • Cody is the final winner to receive the old $500,000 prize. Starting the next regular season, Big Brother 23, the winner receives an increased prize money of $750,000 instead.
  • Cody holds the record for the most jury votes received in his Big Brother career, with 11.
  • Cody was the first person on Reindeer Games to make it on both the Naughty and Nice Lists.
