Mark is mostly known for being part of a showmance with Elena Davies known as "Marlena" and for being one of the the stronger competitors of the season. Mark was put in the middle frequently when the house turned on his closest allies Cody Nickson and Dominique Cooper. He tried to remain in good graces with the house but it proved to be impossible and some of his housemates accused him of "flip flopping." Mark also frequently clashed with fellow houseguest Josh Martinez, throwing pickle juice and hot sauce in Josh's face after a game of pool and Josh harassing Mark by banging pots and pans nearly resulted in a physical altercation. He was targeted for associating too much with Jessica Graf and Cody and in doing so put a strain on his relationship with Elena. The group was picked off by the rest of the house starting with Jessica, then Cody and Elena during a Double Eviction which left Mark alone in the game with no allies. Mark saved himself from being evicted prior to this by winning a Power of Veto or Temptation Competition four weeks in a row but his winning streak came to an end in week 8. He was voted out for being too big of a threat in competitions and became the third member of the jury. Mark was one of the few houseguests to catch on to Paul Abrahamian playing a manipulative and highly strategic game. He attempted to recruit Jason Dent to make a move against Paul but to no avail. In jury Mark, Elena, Cody, Alex Ow and Jason all agreed Paul overplayed and failed to manage the jury so they voted Josh the winner.
Since the show ended Mark moved to Texas where he currently lives with Elena, started his own fitness program http://markjansenfitness.com and Youtube channel "Mark Jansen" where he advocates against bullying and living a healthier lifestyle.

What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house?
Seeing the same people every day, but I've been through a similar experience studying abroad. Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most: Brendon Villegas from Seasons 12 and 13. He basically said, "It's me and my girl vs. the house. Let's go." Do you have a strategy for winning the game?
Yeah, try to read people and relate with everybody, be real, don't get caught up in stories, earn people's trust and keep it. My life's motto is… Fear none, regret less. What would you take into the house, and why?
- A pair of Jordan's because I'm a sneaker head
- Protein because you can never have too much protein
- iPod because I love my music Fun facts about yourself:>br>
- Studied abroad
- I love chess and I'm real good
- Went to an NFL regional combine
- Division 1 football player
