Pinoy Big Brother 8 is the upcoming eighth edition and 14th overall season of the Philippine series, Pinoy Big Brother .

Developments

On the final night of Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7, the hosts Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzales and Robi Domingo hinted for a new upcoming season during the closing spiel of the show by saying It has been the longest and biggest season of Pinoy Big Brother, so far!.

Pinoy Big Brother's official Facebook page also posted a photo of the crew with the Season 7 housemates during the PBB Thanksgiving Party with a caption; On behalf of the people behind PBB, Thank you for all of your support. See you next season!.

In September 2017, an alleged Season 8 casting auditions had spread on Facebook stating that there will be auditions on October 15th 2017, The ABS-CBN and Pinoy Big Brother management quickly denied such auditions and and condemned such fake accounts.

On March 28, 2018, Pinoy Big Brother hinted for a "BIG" announcement coming through their Twitter account.

On March 29, 2018, ABS-CBN officially announced that the network would bring a new process for casting auditions. The producers revealed that they would be launching general casting audition event for all of the network's talent and reality competition series, describing it as a "one stop shop" type of casting process.

The Star Hunt Grand Auditions would be choosing contestants for several upcoming seasons of various ABS-CBN shows. The shows included for the casting auditions were ABS-CBN's reality shows such as Pinoy Big Brother 8; singing reality shows such as The Voice of the Philippines, Tawag ng Tanghalan, I Can See Your Voice; talent shows such as Pilipinas Got Talent, , Little Big Shots; Dance shows such as Dance Kids, the new Philippine version of World of Dance; as well as life stories for the country's longest running drama anthology show Maalaala Mo Kaya. ABS-CBN's Entertainment Production Director, Laurenti Dyogi, confirmed that they will be the ones who will put the accepted auditionees to which show they would most likely belong depending on their talents and personalities.

Casting Auditions will be held in various provinces in the Philippines as well as in some countries with sizeable Filipino community overseas. The Casting Auditions are separated into three categories; Kids, Teens and Adults.

4	December 5, 2018 Day 26	Day 26 - Day 29		Ultim8 Frisbee Relay For this task, there will be three players involved, a catcher, a thrower and a shooter. One housemate must throw the frisbee with a plastic cup above it, while another housemate at the end of the court must be able to catch the frisbee with the pingpong ball in it. On the other hand, one housemate must be able to shoot the pingpong ball into the frisbee cup as it is being thrown before the catcher gets the frisbee. To win the task, they must be able to shoot atleast three balls within three days. In addition to the task, the automatically nominated housemates, Jillian Pilones, Aljon Mendoza and Seth Fedelin were given the chance to remove their auto nomination only if the housemates succeeded in the weekly task. For the 5th Weekly Task, the housemates would participate and represent their season in the bazaar with their stall called "Otsolit". They must design, create and sell 800 shirts with a total value of 200,000 pesos and their sales must double to Php400,000 in order to win the task. They only have one way communication which means orders will only be flashed into the TV screen while the viewers can see them doing their promotions. 4	January 29, 2019 (Day 24)			OTSO Card Cake The housemates must create an eight-layered wedding cake made of cards. The first layer must occupy the full circumference of the circular table provided for them. On the other hand, eight layers are needed for an upgrade to a premium package. Together with Criza Taa, his former campmate, and Lie, the loudest housemate in the BB House, Rhys must sneak in two Camp Star Hunt Star Dreamers; Gabby Sarmiento and Sansan Dagumampan inside the Big Brother House while the housemates are asleep. Kaori's mom works as a caregiver while Karina's mom works by taking care of a blind child. They must become servants to the housemates by cooking for them, waking them up, following their whims, cleaning the house and even washing their clothes by hand. They were also restricted to join the housemates when eating at the table and they were made to sleep in the spare room.	A surprise reward to be able to talk to their mothers.
12	Day 25 December 4, 2018	Entry Task		Pinoy Big Fighter As a way of entrance, new housemate Ali Abinal must transform into a video game character. He was also given a special haircut through a random draw. He was blindfolded in the game, and the housemates has the control to move him around the obstacle course by giving him commands. He must be able to hit 7 targets to reveal the codes that will unlock the doors to the main house. On the otherhand, 3 of the targets contain a certain consequence and if one of the housemates hit one of those 3 targets, he/she must choose a random box placed in the house to reveal the consequence. 13	Day 30 December 9, 2018	Entry Task		Volleyball As a way of Reign Parani's entrance, she must be able to rally 8 consecutive times with each of the three housemates Seth Fedelin, Ali Abinal and Rhys Eugenio without falling to the ground. The net is covered so they couldn't see each other. If successfully done for each of the three rounds, Reign will receive a box containing her belongings. If lost, she won't receive her belongings. 14	Day 32 December 11, 2018	Special Task		House or Camp? After former Star Dreamer Ali Abinal together with other former Star Dreamers who managed to cross-over to the house, Reign Parani and Rhys Eugenio kept discussing to each other on how they felt like outsiders in the house and how they miss the Camp Star Hunt and their fellow Star Dreamers, Big Brother gave them a difficult choice which tested their friendship and loyalty to both sides in regards to the week's Decemversus Challenge, a competition which pitted the Team House against the Team Camp. They were given a decision on which side they must play for at the Decemversus Challenge. Big Brother set up flags with the housemates faces on it at the garden area. If any of the three former Star Dreamers decided to take themselves out of the Team House for the Decemversus, they must pull out their flag out of the roster as a symbol of withdrawal from the Team House and a symbol of team shift to the Team Camp. 15	Day 39 December 18, 2018	Side Task		PBB Otsodition To get additional members for their teams, Jelay Pilones and Lie Reposposa must hold a casting audition. The auditionees would be the Camp Star Hunt Star Dreamers and they must persuade the Star Dreamer auditionees to join to their team. The Star Dreamers would be joining on their "Big OTSO Concert" performances.	To get members for their concert task and challenge.
16	Day 44 December 23, 2018	Reward Task		Gift Giving On the morning of December 23rd, the Teen Housemates woke up finding a shelf filled with Miniso products placed around the house's Christmas Tree. Big Brother gave them a chance to shop and choose several things to give as Christmast presents for their loved ones.	To give Christmas gifts for their loved ones.
17	Day 44 December 23, 2018	Reward Task		Guess the Loved One As the Christmas eve arrives, Big Brother gave each 8 Teen Housemates a chance to meet a loved one from the outside world, only if they guess their loved one correctly in a Blindfolded Guessing game. The Star Dreamers would be participating in the task for their first House Player task. One by one while blindfolded inside the activity area, the housemates must guess who among 8 people that helped them eat their favorite dish is their loved one and must correctly guess who that certain relative is. If correctly guessed, they would be able to spend a short time with them and be able to give the Christmas gifts that they picked for their families.	To spend a short amount of time with their loved ones.
18	Day 45 December 24, 2018	Christmas Dinner Party		Big Christmas Feast On Christmas Eve, Big Brother opened the House for the Camp Star Hunt Dreamers to celebrate the Noche Buena or the traditional Christmas Midnight feast. For the first time, all Star Dreamers visited the Big Brother House for a Christmas Dinner Party with the Teen Housemates. They also brought in dishes for the Dinner Party. After dinner, the housemates and the Star Dreamers participated in fun Christmas Party games. The Housemates and the Star Dreamers also had exchange gifts with each other. 19	Day 52 December 31, 2018	New Year's Eve Party		2019 New Year's Celebration The Housemates welcomed 2019 by celebrating the New Year's Eve.	To spend New Year with everyone.
20	Day 54 January 2, 2018	Special Safety Task		Do or Die Ligtask Karina Bautista, Rhys Eugenio & Seth Fedelin who chose not to play in the Big Jump Challenge were punished by becoming nominees. However, Big Brother gave them a second chance to prove their worth as housemates. To save themselves, they must be able to complete a task, similar to the first Big Jump Challenge but with harder mechanics. For their task, they have to successfully transfer eight balls through a maze before the sun sets. If they win, they will get their nominated status nullified, but if they lost, they will stay as nominees where one of them will be evicted through an Eviction Competition.	To get their nominated status nullified.
