The Goblins (also referred to as James' Angels, The Gremlins, The Minions and previously known as After Dark Crew and The High Rollers) was an alliance on Big Brother 17 (US).

Creation

The alliance was formed quickly upon entering the house. It was created by the first two HOH’s, James Huling and Jason Roy as they brought in their allies.

Short-Lived Dominance

Through both HOHs being in the alliance, the alliance was successfully able to backdoor Jace Agolli.

Tensions Arise

After Audrey Middleton decided to spread some lies around the house, she and Da'Vonne Rogers got into a public argument. This gave the opposing alliance The Sixth Sense enough information to form an opposing alliance. After most of the alliance sided with Da'Vonne, Audrey defected from the alliance.

Double Crossed

Due to the opposing alliance staying in power, The Goblins quickly lost Da'Vonne, Audrey and Jeff Weldon in Weeks 2-4. After Vanessa Rousso won HOH, she, Clay Honeycutt and Shelli Poole made an alliance with the remaining goblins to backdoor Austin Matelson. However after the BOTB competition went wrong, Vanessa freaked out after realizing she would have to be the one to backdoor Austin. After Clay and Shelli realized and convinced Vanessa that backdooring Austin wasn’t a good move. Vanessa decided to backdoor Jason Roy as most people saw him as the leader of The Goblins. Blindsided by this the goblins scrambled and were unsuccessful as Jason was evicted. Down to just 3 members left, The Goblins seemed to be in for a tough road.

Taking Back Power

After Jason’s eviction, James won HOH. After Vanessa convinced James she wasn’t a good target, James targeted the showmance of Clay and Shelli whom he blamed for Jason’s eviction. He nominated them alongside each other and successfully evicted Clay. After Becky Burgess won HOH, she told The Goblins that she wanted in with them. The Goblins agreed and Becky targeted Vanessa. However after Vanessa made a deal with The Goblins, they went against Becky and saved Vanessa, sending Shelli home.

Double Eviction Downfall

Following Shelli’s eviction, it was announced to be a Double Eviction. After Steve Moses took power he targeted Jackie Ibarra and successfully evicted her. Despite James and Meg Maley surviving the next two weeks. They were both evicted during another double eviction, thus officially ending the alliance.
